These were my first shaped pops and I could have never guessed how much people would love them and want to learn how to make them back then. It was your enthusiasm for these tiny treats that sent me on a mission to see what else I could to with a little ball of cake on a stick and some candy.
I had to know how many ways I could make them and make you smile. And now I know the answer is endless. Some you may know about … and some maybe not. And I fell in love with the smaller size, too. I mean how can you not smile at those spooky sweet faces.
Besides the books, I created a few gift items with my publisher Chronicle Books. It comes with a small book, treat bags, treat tags, ribbon, cake pop sticks and a cute paper cake pop stand.

I made some of the cake balls for my book club and they were a big hit. They are really very tasty and pretty easy, but they look like something you would find at a bakery.
I like cookbooks like this one with color pictures and step by step instructions. Additionally, the spiral type of binding is great because it will lay flat on the counter when you are trying to read it and bake at the same time.

The projects look like they have a varying difficulty from roll and dip basic cake balls to then on to cup cake pops, exciting animals, and even holiday themed pops. Everything you need to make each pop is listed at the start of the project and it's all super easy to find at most grocery and definitely at any craft or cake decorating store. Read the whole thing and browsed threw the projects while baking my first cake to crumble.
Best part it wants you to use boxed cake and Love this cookbook!!! Best part it wants you to use boxed cake and packaged icing. I am so excited to get started on my first cake balls!
I will say some of the projects look more advanced and take things like edible pens, mini cook cutters, and various candies but the suggested brands are listed with websites to order from. Super simple and they taste delicious. I would suggest you either get this from the library or just you tube it - there are a lot of great videos that provide more info than the book Apr 06, Hannah rated it it was amazing Shelves: I've followed Bakerella online for just over a year, and tried many of her recipes, ALL of which I've loved.

The only warning I would give to those who are going to use this book, practice ALOT before you bring any to parties or for judging. They are hard little buggers. The second piece of advice I would give is to use very stiff frosting.
Lastly I would say, if you are going to use chocolate: That is very important if you want sweet and not bitter cake pops.
I would recommend this to anyone who: Overall, they need to like sweet stuff, because that is all this book is. Sweet, sweet, delicious cake, crumbled into a million tiny pieces and glued back together with frosting then covered in candy and chocolate. Doesn't that sound like the best thing ever?! One niggle was the glossy paper, as this seemed slippery to the touch, but if that is the only thing one has to complain about you shouldn't be too concerned. Some of the recipes will take a bit of time and patience to get the right visual appearance, but a work of art is not always a quick thing and the end result will be worth the investment in time and trouble. Feb 12, Madelyn Rose rated it really liked it. I took this book out from the library with a bunch of other baking books.
I really liked this one for three reasons: These are some cute cake pops that may take a bit of time with some more difficult than others. There are some simple cake pops with some more complicated ones that require some molding of the cake which can that can take a while but are worth it in the end.
These are some really unique cake pops that I have tried to find before but couldn't until I found this book. There ar I took this book out from the library with a bunch of other baking books. There are some popcorn cake pops, cupcake shaped, ladybugs, apples, and more! The book teaches how to make the cake pops and certain strategies and techniques to help you learn how to better make the cake pops.
I had only one problem: Some of the supplies needed to make the cake pops were pretty difficult to find in an ordinary store. I mean, I was still able to find them but it took a little while to find them. One example was the edible ink pen. Again, I could find them but wasn't at my ordinary grocery store. I would recommend that if you want to make a recipe that uses the edible ink but you aren't able to find it, I would use colored candy melts or frosting with a toothpick to easily apply the fine lines.
Hopefully this could be helpful! Anyway, this book is completely worth giving a whirl and there are many things to try. Happy Reading and Happy Baking! Nov 25, Nacala Sf rated it it was amazing. I This book, by Bakerella also an online blogger is a great resource and explains very delicately how to make cake pops, which has become a type of baking trend. If you don't know what a cake pop is, it's basically cake in the form of a ball, on a lollipop type stick.
In this book, it shows how to make different designs of the cake pops. To make these specific designs, you use all kinds of candy. Bakerella takes this concept to a whole other level and include recipes, techniques, materials, websites, and other references that all contribute to the making of cake pops in one book. I feel that this book is so good because it is extremely entertaining, but also contributes to the actual baking.
